Israel Launches Strikes on Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli military announced on Thursday that it has begun striking Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, following warnings issued to residents to evacuate buildings in three villages in the area.
In a statement, the army said it had launched “a series of strikes against Hezbollah military targets” in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese group, which is backed by Iran, had earlier declared that it rejects any form of political negotiation between Lebanon and Israel that had been suggested by mediators.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions along the border, where exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah-linked forces have increased in recent weeks.
